WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), northbound I-5 in Bellingham will be reduced to 1 lane on Saturday, August 15, 2026, and Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The lane reductions will occur between Samish Way and Texas Street, covering mileposts 252 through 254, from about 6am to about 10am each day. The closures are required for maintenance crews to replace concrete panels.
The Iowa Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from about 6am to about 1pm on August 15, 2026, according to WSDOT.
According to WSDOT, the scheduled work requires dry weather and may be rescheduled if it rains.
