BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A 2-car crash on E Sunset Drive yesterday, April 12th, sent 1 person to the hospital.

According to Bellingham Fire Department Firefighter and Public Information Officer Dustin Michaelis, aid crews assessed 3 patients between the 2 vehicles that were involved in the crash. 2 were released at the scene and 1 was transported by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries under basic life support (BLS) protocol.

Michaelis said a ladder truck was used to secure the pickup so that occupants of the passenger sedan could leave their vehicle.

Bellingham Police Lieutenant Claudia Murphy said 3 cars were involved in the crash. The passenger sedan, a 1998 Audi A4, was westbound on E Sunset Drive when it drove into a 1998 Toyota Tacoma stopped at a line of cars waiting at the electronic traffic signal at the northbound I-5 ramps. The impact pushed the Toyota forward into a 2016 Subaru Forester that was also stopped.
