FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the intersection of Grandview Road (SR548) and Olson Road about 11am on Wednesday, November 15th, due to a report of a car versus semi truck crash.
Radio reports from the scene by Washington State Patrol troopers indicate the semi trailer was damaged and would require an extensive period of time to remove.
Whatcom County Fire District 7 Assistant Fire Chief Ben Boyko told Whatcom News that there were only minor injuries and no one required transport from the scene. The car appeared to have T-boned an axle of the trailer which had a heavy load.
Washington State Department of Transportation said, as of 12:50pm, traffic is alternating through a single open lane in the area.
Alternate routes are recommended due to delays.
Update 2:30pm: WSDOT announced the crash scene had been cleared.
