BELLINGHAM, Wash. — About 11:30am on Tuesday, January 23rd, first responders were dispatched to the northbound lanes of I-5 south of the Samish Way overpass due to reports of a multi-vehicle blocking crash.
According to Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) traffic cameras, the lanes were blocked with traffic getting past using the left shoulder.
WSDOT reported that all lanes have since been reopened.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding told Whatcom News this was a semi-truck and trailer versus passenger car collision and the driver of the passenger car was transported from the scene to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.
It was too early to know whether any citations or charges may have been issued or are pending according to Harding.
