County libraries allow fully vaccinated to visit without masks

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with the Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) said today masks are no longer required at Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) branches for visitors who have been fully vaccinated.

The announcement is in response to recent COVID public health guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Gov. Jay Inslee’s office, WCLS officials said.

On May 13, the CDC and, subsequently, Gov. Inslee announced that masks are no longer required indoors or outdoors for people who have been fully vaccinated.

Masks continue to be required for anyone over the age of 2 who is not fully vaccinated. Patrons are asked to follow the honor system regarding full vaccination status. WCLS staff will not be requiring proof of vaccination. Whatcom County Library System announcement (May 14, 2021)
