BOW, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation issued an update today, Monday, May 5, 2025, on the situation surrounding a rockslide on Chuckanut Drive (SR11) that occurred on April 22, 2025, and continues to block all lanes.

According to today’s statement, over the 2 weeks since the slide occurred, the slide area has settled. Contractors are expected to begin scaling, removing loose rock to prep for clearing, this week.

The road closure continues between the Oyster Dome trail head to the north and Chuckanut Manor to the south. Businesses on both sides of the slide area and Larabee State Park to the north remain open but the closure applies to bicycles and pedestrians as well as vehicles.

There is currently no estimate for when the road will be reopened.
