Blaine newspaper publishers announce retirement, succession plan

BLAINE, Wash. — Owners of The Northern Light (TNL) announced yesterday, December 31, 2025, they would be retiring after publishing TNL, along with the All Point Bulletin (APB) and several annual special publications, for 35 years.

The husband-and-wife team were said to have “publishing experience in magazines and books in New York City” when they heard the APB was shutting and bought it. 3 years later, they began publishing TNL. Soon after they began publishing annual special publications. All supported mostly from advertising.

We are in final negotiations to turn the company over to a non-profit newspaper organization. There may be a lapse of a couple of issues, but we are hopeful that our readers and advertisers will soon be seeing a familiar friend next to their coffee cups.
