Bellingham Police report 1 of 2 men shot has died

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — 1 of 2 men reported to have suffered life-threatening gunshot injuries died at the hospital.

Bellingham Police Department (BPD) issued a statement yesterday, Sunday, October 16th, saying officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Valencia Street after a man had called What-Comm 911 to report he had been shot and needed help.

BPD personnel were dispatched to a death investigation at that address about 3:15am according to the BPD press summary log.

According to the statement, the officers found 1 person shot at the scene and immediately began rendering aid. In the meantime, another gunshot victim was reported to have been dropped off in a private vehicle at PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center’s emergency department.

Both men, 31 and 28 years of age, sustained life-threatening injuries. The press summary log said that 1 of the men died at the hospital.
