BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police were contacted on September 28th by a woman who reportedly had found child porn on the smartphone of a male acquaintance.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in Whatcom County Superior Court, the woman had met with the man several times over the last few months. During a recent encounter, he mentioned having child porn pictures and videos on his phone.
When the woman borrowed the man’s vehicle, she found his smartphone inside. She was able to access files on the phone and found the images and videos he mentioned. She then called 911 and reported her findings.
According to investigators, a search warrant was served on the phone and multiple videos depicting child porn were located.
Christopher Daniel McCullough, age 38, was arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail on October 10th. He is currently facing 4 counts of felony 1st-degree possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in Whatcom County Superior Court.
A warrant issued on October 3rd for McCullough’s arrest did not provide for a bail option.
