BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Bellingham man was arrested April 23, 2025, after leaving a Seattle medical center without permission and a female associate was also arrested for rendering criminal assistance.
According to Whatcom County Superior Court documents, Nathaniel Ernest Keith Deal, age 37, was recently in custody at the Whatcom County Jail while awaiting trial on felony charges including 1st-degree robbery and delivery of fentanyl. On April 7, 2025, he was granted a temporary release from custody to receive a medical procedure at a medical center in Seattle. Terms of his release were that he not leave the medical center at any time and doing so would result in escape charges.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office investigators were reportedly told by medical center staff that Deal had discharged himself against medical advice on April 12, 2025, and never returned. He was reportedly with a “significant other” when he left.
Deal was arrested and booked back into the Whatcom County Jail about 7:20pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
About 7pm, a known associate of Deal’s, Channelle Grace Legros, age 37, was also booked into the jail charged with rendering criminal assistance.
Legros is also currently awaiting trial on felony charges in Whatcom County Superior Court also including a 1st-degree robbery charge and delivery of fentanyl charges. She was released from custody after posting a $30,000 appearance bond on March 24, 2025.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the court, Deal and Legros were wanted by the Whatcom Regional Drug Task Force for several counts of delivery of a controlled substance resulting from a task force investigation. They were subsequently charged with drug crimes as a result of the investigation and are still awaiting trial on those charges.
As of April 24, 2025, Deal was being held in custody at the jail without the option of posting bail.
