BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Following an investigation, Bellingham Police arrested a 46-year-old nursing assistant today, Tuesday, September 19th.

The man, identified as Nathaniel Matthew Miller, is charged with 2nd-degree rape by forcible compulsion in Whatcom County Superior Court.

According to court records, a warrant for the arrest of Miller was issued on August 3rd following a Bellingham Police Department investigation into a July 4th rape of a resident in a home where disability services are provided.

According to an affidavit of probable cause for arrest dated July 19th, a resident reported having witnessed the crime. Further interviews and a medical exam reportedly corroborated the witness’ report.

As of September 19th, Miller remained in custody pending being able to post a $200,000 bond.
