Bellingham business damaged by Sunday morning fire

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 1400 block of N Forest Street in Bellingham about 5:45am on Sunday, December 29th, due to report of a commercial structure fire.

Initial radioed reports from the scene were that it appeared there was smoke and fire on the exterior of the building. Later reports were of smoke in the upper spaces of the 1-story building.

After 20 minutes on scene, firefighters reported having knocked down the fire and beginning the overhaul process.

The business reported earlier that they would be closed between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. No immediate information regarding the extent of the damage.

Bellingham Fire Department investigators were dispatched to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
