Second car versus pedestrian incident at 2nd Avenue and Main Street in 24 hours

First responders were dispatched at 10:50am today, November 1st, to the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Main Street due to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian incident. This is almost exactly 24 hours (adjusting for the overnight end of Daylight Saving) after a similar call to the same location yesterday.

According to a witness at the scene, a vehicle was making a right turn from 1st Avenue to eastbound Main Street when it collided with a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief said they transported 1 patient with non-life-threatening injuries to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

According to a witness to yesterday’s incident, the vehicle was eastbound on Main Street when it entered the intersection and struck 2 the pedestrians.
