4 arrested by RCMP Border Integrity officers after being pursued across the US-Canada border near Lynden

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with the Canada Border Services Agency and US Border Patrol Blaine Sector recently reported 3 people were taken into custody in October 2025 after making a reportedly illegal border crossing from the United States into Canada. They were picked up by a vehicle waiting nearby.

The incident occurred on October 8, 2025 when three individuals fled on foot being pursued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and unlawfully crossed into Canada in the area of Northwood Road in Lynden, Washington and 0 Avenue in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The three individuals as well as the driver were arrested and turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for further investigation and processing under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

Investigations are ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
