2 men shot, Bellingham Police seek information

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Early on Sunday, October 16th, Bellingham Police Department (BPD) officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Valencia Street after a man had called What-Comm 911 to report he had been shot and needed help according to a statement issued by BPD.

BPD said the officers found 1 person shot at the scene and immediately began rendering aid. In the meantime, another gunshot victim was reported to have been dropped off in a private vehicle at PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center’s emergency department.

Both men, 31 and 28 years of age, sustained life-threatening injuries.

No motive is known and there is no threat to the public at this time.

BPD crime scene investigators and detectives are investigating the shootings. No clear motive has been established. Detectives are in the beginning stages of their investigation to determine the facts of this incident.
