1 dead after pedestrian vs train incident near Boulevard Park in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the area of Boulevard Park in Bellingham about 10:50am on Thursday, July 27th, due to a report of a train versus pedestrian collision.

According to first responder radio transmissions at the time, 911 dispatchers had been notified by BNSF dispatchers of the incident involving a train.

The deceased victim’s body was located about a quarter-mile north of the park according to radioed reports. Bellingham Police were investigating.

Amtrak reported a southbound passenger train heading from Vancouver BC to Seattle was stopped north of Bellingham. About 1pm, it resumed operation 2 hours and 30 minutes late due to the incident.
