WTA to provide free bus rides and added service to the NW Washington Fair

Next week, all rides on Whatcom Transit Authority (WTA) buses will be free.

The WTA’s annual Free Fare Week will be next week according to a recent announcement. It will begin Sunday, August 14th and continue through Saturday, August 20th. During that time, all bus rides, with the exception of Route 80X between Mount Vernon and Bellingham, will be free.

In addition, during the time the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden is happening (8/15 to 8/20), WTA will be including a nightly bus from the fairgrounds to stops in Bellingham. According to WTA,

This 10 pm bus will depart from a WTA bus stop on Front Street. (Across the street from the fairgrounds, between Bank of the Pacific and Umpqua Bank.) It will make two stops: Cordata Station, located near Whatcom Community College, and downtown’s Bellingham Station.)
