Washington State — Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation said this morning, Thursday, January 6th, that all the passes between eastern and western Washington were closed and potentially could remain closed through Saturday.
Extreme weather has created conditions so hazardous that it’s too dangerous for our crews to be in the mountain pass areas. Because of that, Snoqualmie, Stevens, White & Blewett passes will not reopen until at least Friday & possibly not until Saturday.WSDOT Twitter account (January 6, 2022)
Other passes already seasonally closed include the North Cascades Highway (SR20), Chinook Pass (SR410) and Cayuse Pass (SR123).
