The winter weather event approaching the Ferndale area from the south can be seen on weather radar entering Washington State.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory yesterday forewarning of the potential for one or more inches of snow beginning later as a result of a system arriving from the south later today. This advisory is in effect until noon tomorrow.
Well ahead of the snow and impacting the Ferndale area currently are high winds. A Wind Advisory issued earlier today forewarned of strong winds with gusts to 50mph. The wind advisory is in effect until 8pm this evening.
UPDATE: The National Weather Service says “this band is not the main snow maker that is still expected for this evening.”
