It probably does not require an official notice to confirm we are in the middle of a wind event but the National Weather Service confirmed it with an advisory issued this afternoon.
According to the advisory, “winds will peak this afternoon… ease a bit this evening… then increase again overnight.” Southeast winds from 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph are expected until 4am Saturday morning.
There have already been over ten wind gusts recorded in Ferndale between 40 and 50mph today.
