Wind advisory issued for Whatcom County, 55mph gusts expected

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The Seattle office of the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory today, Friday, December 1st, for western Whatcom County from 8pm tonight through 6am tomorrow due to expected strong south-southwest winds.

Sustained winds of 30 to 40mph with gusts to 55mph are expected during the advisory period.

The advisory area extends across the western Whatcom and Skagit Counties, San Juan County, lower Chehalis Valley area, western Strait of Juan de Fuca and the north and central coastal areas.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. National Weather Service (December 1, 2023)
