Wind Advisory issued for Saturday

Whatcom News file graphic

Forecasters at the Seattle office of the National Weather Service have issued a Wind Advisory for 11am to 7pm on Saturday, April 6th.

The advisory warns much of western Washington can expect sustained southerly winds of 20 to 35mph with gusts of 40 to 55mph during the advisory period.

Winds are expected to increase late Saturday morning, peak during the afternoon hours and then diminish in the evening.

A Wind Advisory means winds of 35mph with gusts up to 55mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Weak trees or small tree branches may be blown down and result in local power outages.
