Funding from Phillips 66 Ferndale and BP Cherry Point refineries is being used to purchase crisis management and emergency response software for the Whatcom Emergency Operations Center (EOC) facility, training for EOC volunteers from county agencies and to establish a website to centrally house all Whatcom COVID-19 Unified Command information for the public along with expert resources.
According to a press release, Phillips 66 provided an initial $60,000 donation, which was matched by BP Cherry Point.
According to Phillips 66 Ferndale Director of Public and Government Affairs Tim Johnson, “It is important to Phillips 66 Ferndale Refinery to support this critical work. We are all in this together.”
