It was recently announced Whatcom Physical Therapy, with 3 Whatcom County locations including one on the corner of Hamlin Avenue and Main Street in Ferndale, has been acquired by GPB Capital of New York.
According a news release by GPB Capital, they acquired 4 physical therapy centers across the US including Whatcom Physical Therapy. The acquisition arrangement is intended to help the physical therapy practice operators achieve their next stage of growth and profitability. According to GPB Capital, “In exchange for majority ownership stakes, operators obtain access to a team of professionals at GPB Capital affiliate Alliance Physical Therapy Partners, who have many years of experience related to physical therapy practice acquisitions, recruitment, compliance, technology, direct-to-consumer marketing, and strategic growth.”
Whatcom Physical Therapy’s first location was opened in 1997 in Blaine by Alan Finston PT. The company has since expanded to include a fitness center at the Blaine location and additional locations, 1 in Bellingham and the other in Ferndale.
