FERNDALE, Wash. — The 2020 WSU Whatcom Master Gardener Foundation Plant Sale will not be held at Hovander Homestead Park this May as is normally the case for this popular annual event. Instead they will be holding their first-ever online sale beginning tomorrow.
According to Master Gardener officials, the online sale will include “the majority of our special tomatoes, veggie and herb starts, and dahlia tubers.”
Anyone interested in making a purchase is instructed to visit the Plant Sale information page on or after tomorrow, April 23rd. Purchases will be available to be picked up via a “grab and go” at Hovander Homestead Park at assigned times on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th.
Annual Plant Sale proceeds fund WSU Whatcom Master Gardener projects and activities each year. Master Gardeners of Whatcom County call this event their biggest fundraiser of the year.
We understand that this is not as convenient as in the past, we value our community and customers and must abide by COVID-19 safety restrictions.WSU Whatcom Master Gardener Foundation Plant Sale website
The event was originally scheduled for May 9th at Hovander Homestead Park.
The annual event typically draws a large crowd with many lined up awaiting the opening of the gate at 9am.
