SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Jade August Schweier, age 30, was sentenced in Skagit County Superior Court on March 31st after pleading guilty to several felony charges. On April 3rd, similar felony charges faced by Schweier in Whatcom County Superior Court were dismissed.

As a result of pleading guilty in the Skagit court, Schweier was sentenced to 10.75 years in prison followed by 18 months of probation for the following felony crimes.

  • 2 counts of 1st-degree robbery
  • 2 counts of possession of a stolen vehicle
  • attempting to elude police
  • 1st-degree possessing stolen property
  • 2 counts of protection order violations

Schweier was also facing similar felony charges across 6 separate cases in the Whatcom court. In each of these cases, the charges were dismissed without prejudice on April 3rd as a “global resolution” following the guilty plea and subsequent sentencing in the Skagit court.

Whatcom News reported about an incident in 2021 that resulted in felony charges against Schweier. He was reported to have placed a handgun on a table when unable to reach a deal over the purchase of a vehicle and told the victim they did not want to see him “get mean.” Feeling intimidated, the victim handed the keys over and Schweier reportedly drove off with the car. He was arrested shortly after while standing next to the car.
