Whatcom candidate forums are available online and via BTV

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — As Washington state voters’ pamphlets began arriving in mailboxes residents’ thoughts begin to turn towards candidates and ballot measures.

League of Women Voters is again hosting candidate forums and the schedule is provided below. Many will be broadcast live on BTV Bellingham and can be joined online via Zoom.

Instructions for submitting questions and other options for access can be found at 2021 General Election Forums — League of Women Voters® Bellingham/Whatcom County (lwvbellinghamwhatcom.org). There is also information about re-broadcast on Cable access and local radio throughout the weeks up to General Election Day, November 2.  And, once recorded, links to each forum will be on the website for viewing.

  • Friday, October 1, 6:00-7:15 pm: Port of Bellingham Commissioners
  • Tuesday, October 5, 6:00 -8:45 pm: Whatcom County Council Positions
  • Thursday, October 7, 6:00-8:45 pm: Ferndale City Council & Ferndale School District*
  • Friday, October 8, 6:00-8:45 pm: Bellingham City Council & Bellingham School District
  • Wednesday, October 13, 6:00-8:45 pm: City of Lynden Council, Lynden School District 504; & Blaine School District*
  • Thursday, October 14, 6:00-8:45 pm: Blaine City Council*
  • Saturday, October 16, 9:30 am – 12:15 pm: Pro & Con Debate on 4 Bellingham Ballot Initiatives*
