Between 4pm and 5pm today, traffic became exceptionally bogged down on Main Street as could be seen from the Discover Ferndale webcam looking east on Main Street from the Carnation Oxford Building. It wasn’t unusual to see traffic backed up all the way to the I-5 overpass.
Looking south, traffic through the construction zones (yes, plural) on Slater Road was crawling as well. To the north, the I-5 northbound exit at Portal Way was backing up too.
The only apparent good route westbound off I-5 was a little further north on Grandview Road.
Was everyone heading home early? Were drivers trading Slater Road for Main Street? And just as this is being posted, there is a report of an accident at the Main Street I-5 overpass.
Here is what today’s traffic slooked like from the webcam’s perspective at 4:45pm (btw: it only records in short bursts and is normally not set to record due to technical constraints).
