WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — As of 7am today, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, many Whatcom County schools and other agencies have announced delays and closures for today due to continued sub-freezing temperatures and road conditions.
- Bellingham Schools – schools are open and running on normal schedules Wednesday with snow bus routes in effect
- Bellingham Christian Schools – all classes will start 1 hour late on Wednesday, except preschool and kindergarten are on-time
- Assumption Catholic School – no announcement
- Ferndale School District –
all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesdayall classes and activities cancelled on Wednesday - Lummi Nation School –
all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesdayall classes and activities cancelled on Wednesday - Blaine School District –
all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesdayall classes and activities cancelled on Wednesday - Lynden School District – all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesday (in addition to the scheduled 1-hour late start)
- Lynden Christian Schools – all classes will start 1 hour late on Wednesday
- Nooksack Valley School District – all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesday, preschools are cancelled
- Meridian School District – all classes will start 2 hours late with snow bus routes in effect on Wednesday
- Mount Baker School District – all classes will start on the scheduled 90-minute late arrival schedule on Wednesday, no AM preschool
- Whatcom Intergenerational High School – all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesday
- Khalsa Academy – all classes on normal schedules on Wednesday
- Cornerstone Christian School – no school on Wednesday
- Ebenezer Christian School – no school on Wednesday
- Bellingham Technical College – classes on normal schedule on Wednesday
- Western Washington University – classes on normal schedule on Wednesday
- Whatcom Community College – classes on normal schedule on Wednesday
- Northwest Indian College – all classes will start 2 hours late on Wednesday
- Lummi Health Center and Clinic – open for essential services from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday
- Nooksack Tribal Offices and Health Clinic – opening 2 hours late on Wednesday
- Whatcom County Library System – all library locations open normal hours except for Lynden which is opening late at 10am
- Whatcom Transportation Authority – operating most routes but delays can be expected, no FLEX service on routes 71X, 72X, or 75, no Zone service
- Amtrak Cascades – trains operating between Seattle and Vancouver are currently on time
- Mount Baker Highway (SR542) – traction tires advised, oversize vehicles prohibited
- Ferndale Food Bank – closed on Wednesday
- Ferndale Community Services Resource Center – no announcement
- Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation – all classes and activities cancelled on Wednesday except for After School Enrichment
