7:45am: Good morning. Temperatures around Ferndale are around 50° under a clear sky with little to no breeze. Air quality is being reported in the GOOD range.

1. Washington Street between Vista Drive and 3rd Avenue remains closed to through traffic until October. The official detour route is via Vista Drive and 3rd Avenue. Latest estimate for reopening is September 29th.
2. This summer’s I-5 resurfacing project between Ferndale and Blaine is scheduled to continue tonight when workers will return to the following Ferndale area I-5 interchange ramps.
   * Portal Way
   * Grandview Road
   * Birch Bay-Lynden Road
   Drivers can expect these ramps to be closed between 8pm and 6am. The I-5 northbound and southbound right lanes in the work area can also be expected to be closed between 7pm and 11am.
3. Traffic revisions remain in place 24/7 around Ferndale High School. Malloy Avenue remains one-way northbound from the Vista roundabout to Seamount Drive while Washington Street remains closed. More details here.
4. LaBounty Drive will be closed to through traffic from 7:30am to 5pm between Sunset Avenue and Seahawk Drive this week from until Friday due to utility work. Flaggers will be available to enable local traffic to get in and out of the area. More details here.
5. The Lummi Island vehicle ferry, Whatcom Chief, is out of service for annual maintenance. According to the current schedule, the Whatcom Chief is due to return to service on Thursday, September 29th. Until then, passenger-only service is being provided. Click here for details.
