Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU) members are invited to bring personal paper records to be shredded at 2 shredding events this month.
Friday, April 15th, from 9am to noon at the WECU Birchwood Branch, 1600 Birchwood Avenue in Bellingham.
Saturday, April 16th, from 9am to noon at the WECU Ferndale Branch, 5659 Barrett Road.
Members can bring up to 2 file-sized boxes or grocery bags of sensitive documents to shred. They are asked not to bring junk mail, paper with metal clips, wet or bulky/bound items.
Shredding documents containing personal information before disposing decreases the chances for identity theft while also keeping personal information private.
