Update:
The storms have headed more toward Skagit and Snohomish counties than toward Whatcom. This may change but for now Whatcom appears to have dodged the storms.
Original story:
The National Weather Service issued a short term forecast regarding weather moving west from the Cascades (not east from the water like usual) into the Whatcom County and Skagit County lowlands late this afternoon, September 4th at 4:25pm.
A LINE OF SHOWERS WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IS MOVING WEST OUT OF THE CASCADES AND INTO THE LOWLANDS OF WHATCOM…SKAGIT AND NORTHERN SNOHOMISH COUNTIES. BRIEF HEAVY RAINS…SMALL HAIL…GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS. IF YOU ARE OUTDOORS…SEEK SHELTER INDOORS.
According to the radar, this may impact Skagit County more than Whatcom as things appear now. But conditions can change rapidly.
