Sorry kids, there is little chance of a snow day today, your last day before winter break.
After yesterday’s surprise snow that achieved accumulations of nearly a half-an-inch or more in the higher areas around Ferndale (ie 100 feet above sea level and up) and provided some driving challenges, neighbors woke this morning unsure what to expect.
Temperatures around Ferndale rose from the mid-30s to over 40° overnight. That was mostly from a sudden 5° increase in temperature in the short time between 5am and 5:30am this morning, December 18th, as the wind shifted from being primarily northerly to southerly.
Today’s forecast calls for a high of 45° and a low later tonight of 37°. There is a 70% chance of rain with the possibility of thunder thrown in.
