The National Weather Service in Seattle issued a special weather statement regarding the forecasted very warm temperatures expected this weekend.

…VERY WARM WEATHER WILL DEVELOP OVER WESTERN WASHINGTON SATURDAY
AND PERSIST OVER THE INTERIOR SUNDAY…

According to the statement, sunny and unseasonably warm temperatures are expected over much of western Washington Saturday and Sunday, July 18th and 19th. Temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s are expected in central Puget Sound and areas south. Fortunately for us, somewhat cooler temperatures, mid 80s, are expected in the north interior and near the strait.

An onshore flow Sunday will cool the coast and on Sunday but interior temperatures will be similar to Saturday.

While the warmer-than-normal summer has helped to acclimate us to these warm temperatures, it is still worth-while to take precautions. Drink water to stay hydrated and remember car interiors become very hot, creating a danger for children and pets. In addition, when working or spending time outdoors, know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and use sun block.
