BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A delivery person was the victim of an unprovoked stabbing the morning of Wednesday, October 4th, according to Bellingham Police.
Bellingham Police Department (BPD) Lieutenant Claudia Murphy told Whatcom News via email that officers responded to a business in the 1200 block of W Bakerview Road about 4:15am due to a report of a male stabbed in the abdomen.
The injured man was located near the store’s loading dock area of the store. Officers learned the victim was a vendor at the store making a delivery.
An unknown suspect reportedly approached the man as he was walking to his vehicle and stabbed him in the abdomen “completely unprovoked.”
The victim was able to get away from the suspect and into the store for help. The suspect left in an unknown direction.
Bellingham Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
