Vehicle vs motorcycle crash temporarily shut down Squalicum Way in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — As of 2:40pm on Wednesday, July 12th, traffic was being diverted away from Squalicum Way at Meridian Street and West Street due to a crash in the area of the 1100 block of Squalicum Way.

First responders were dispatched to the area under the Northwest Avenue bridge about 2:35pm due to reports of an injury motorcycle versus vehicle crash. Initial reports from the scene were that the motorcyclist had been injured.

The PulsePoint EMS dispatch log service reports at least 1 patient was transported from the scene via a medic unit.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The eastbound lane was reopened about 3:45pm. Traffic appeared to be flowing normally in both directions by 4:30pm.
