School bus “clipped” by vehicle after school today

The school district issued a notice to the community today that one of their school buses was clipped by a passing vehicle while it was at a stop.

The incident occurred shortly after 4pm according to the district.

One of our school buses was at a stop near the intersection of Bay and Ham Roads. The bus had its front paddle extended. An unknown vehicle passed by the bus and clipped the paddle and mirror of the bus.

Students were on the bus at the time. No one was injured. The driver reported the incident to the district and authorities. Authorities cleared the bus to continue on its route to deliver students home safely to their families.

The district said authorities will be investigating the incident further.

It was not known which Ferndale school the bus was taking students home from and district officials were unavailable at the time this story was being written.
