Police provided details today from their investigation of yesterday’s crash in the 1700 block of Main Street that impacted traffic and left one driver trapped in their rolled-over pickup.

According to Ferndale Police Sergeant Travis Card, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup was westbound on Main Street and made a left turn into the private parking lot. A blue Volkswagen Jetta station wagon was traveling eastbound in the right lane. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado failed to yield to the oncoming traffic when making the left turn, causing the Volkswagen to collide with the passenger side of the Chevrolet. This in turn caused the Chevrolet to flip on its side and also collide with a third vehicle, a white Audi that was stopped and waiting to turn out of the private lot.

The driver of the Chevrolet was issued an infraction for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.
