With over 30,000 reported without power in the Puget Sound region, there are enough power outages that Puget Sound Energy’s ability to report them all is being challenged.
In a special weather statement earlier this week, National Weather Service referred to today’s windstorm as “typical.”
According to PSE’s outage map, as of 1:30pm, there were 13 14 separate outages in the Ferndale area impacting over 500 2400 PSE customers. More outages have been reported to Discover Ferndale by readers than appear on their map which is understandable given the incredible workload the current windstorm has brought to PSE.
Grandview Road traffic continued to be detoured around a fallen tree and downed power lines at Kickerville Road and N Star Road. Another tree is blocking the westbound lane of Vista Drive east of Aldergrove Road but no power lines are involved there.

About 1:20pm (as this article was being written), almost 1900 PSE customers in north Ferndale lost power (see map below). No estimate for restoring power has been given and PSE warns that during heavy workload times, estimates are not to be expected.
