Today’s commute – weather – events. Right here in Ferndale.
6:15am: Good morning. The roads and sidewalks are wet and the rains are expected to stay away at least until tomorrow. Temperatures are currently in the mid-40s with a southwest wind from 5 to 10mph.
Check Discover Ferndale’s road closures and hazards map for flood impacted roads. Most notable on the list is Slater Road which remains open. UPDATE 7:45am – Slater Road has been closed. But there is a 5mph speed limit through the flood zone east of the Nooksack River bridge due to inches deep water across the entire roadway.
Special Traffic Advisory: Roadwork on Main Street by the public library is scheduled to begin today. Expect delays in that area for the next month. And just for today, construction with one lane blocked will be happening on Washington Street between 3rd Avenue and Golden Eagle Drive.
Otherwise, commute routes in and out of Ferndale are open with no visible surprises. Check the current WSDOT traffic cams anytime here.
