Tuesday morning update

7am: The rain began just after 6am this morning and is expected to continue through Saturday. Concern about the possibility of minor flooding (enough to close roads) continues as the current long-term forecast has the Nooksack River cresting Friday night at close to 19 feet. Temperatures around Ferndale are currently in the low forties and continuing to drop. The possibility of snowfall in the long-term forecast has moved from this Sunday to Monday.

Today’s Ferndale weather forecast calls for continued rain with up to a quarter-inch expected. Highs could reach 50° and winds are expected from the southeast at 10 to 15mph. Expect the same tonight with the lows in the upper forties and a 50% chance of rain.
