7:45am: Good morning. Temperatures around Ferndale are in the low 50s under a mostly clear sky with a breeze from the north. Air quality is being reported in the GOOD range.
TRAFFIC
- Washington Street between Vista Drive and 3rd Avenue remains closed to through traffic until October. The official detour route is via Vista Drive and 3rd Avenue. Latest estimate for reopening is September 29th.
- This summer’s I-5 resurfacing project between Ferndale and Blaine is scheduled to continue tonight. Drivers can expect temporary closures of all ramps at all interchanges between Slater Road and Blaine as crews apply pavement markings between 8pm and 6am. In addition, drivers can expect lane closures on I-5 between Slater Road and Blaine between 7pm and 11am.
- Rolling road crews will be working on Grandview Road from Blaine to N Star Road today. Drivers can expect flaggers directing traffic around the closed lane in the work area.
- Traffic revisions remain in place 24/7 around Ferndale High School. Malloy Avenue remains one-way northbound from the Vista roundabout to Seamount Drive while Washington Street remains closed. More details here.
- The Lummi Island vehicle ferry, Whatcom Chief, is out of service for annual maintenance. According to the current schedule, the Whatcom Chief is due to return to service on Thursday, September 29th. Until then, passenger-only service is being provided. Click here for details.
