7:45am: Good morning. Temperatures are in the upper 50s around Ferndale under a marine layer of clouds and a breeze from the south. Air quality is being reported in the GOOD range.
TRAFFIC
- Washington Street between Vista Drive and 3rd Avenue remains closed to through traffic until October. The official detour route is via Vista Drive and 3rd Avenue.
- This summer’s resurfacing project on I-5 between Ferndale and Blaine is scheduled to resume tonight. Pavement markings and rumble strips will be installed on the southbound and northbound on- and off-ramps at Grandview Road (Exit 266) and Birch Bay-Lynden Road (Exit 270) between 8pm and 6am. Drivers can expect ramp closures at these exits during this time. Only one interchange will be closed at a time according to the contractor.
- ALERT: Furniture on southbound I-5 at Smith Road is causing a backup. Drivers are advised to allow extra time or avoid the area. UPDATE 8am: The blocking furniture has been cleared and the backup (past Main Street) is beginning to clear.
