BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Construction work on Marine Drive between Locust Avenue and Alderwood Avenue will result in lane closures and drivers can expect delays.
Officials with Whatcom County Public Works warn drivers to expect delays during daytime hours from Monday, October 18th, through Wednesday, October 20th. Lane closures are needed to install a stormwater vault.
Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route around the work area as shown below to avoid the expected delays.
This work is the first part of a larger Marine Drive reconstruction project. The project will widen and reconstruct the existing roadway to allow the addition of pedestrian and bicycle facilities on Marine Drive between Locust Avenue and Alderwood Avenue.
