Traffic impacts expected early next week in Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Roadwork on I-5 and some Whatcom County roads planned by the Washington State Department of Transportation is expected to create traffic impacts Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Daytime impacts

On Monday, May 23rd, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, the right lane of northbound I-5 north of the North Lake Samish interchange will be closed to remove rock debris.

On Tuesday, May 24th, from 8am to 4pm, all traffic on Mount Baker Highway (SR542) will be alternating through a single lane east of Kelly Road due to utility work.

Overnight impacts

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8pm to 5am a lane of northbound and southbound I-5 at the Old Fairhaven Parkway interchange will be closed to install rumble strips and striping.

On Monday and Tuesday from 9pm to 5am, all traffic on E Badger Road (SR546) will be alternating through a single lane at Double Ditch Road due to utility work.
