For the last 24 hours, the Nooksack River has maintained a level of between 14 and 15 feet. The good news, though, is most every road remains unaffected by the relatively chronic high level.
The bad news is Marine Drive has been reduced to one lane west of Ferndale Road due to water over the westbound lane. The speed limit through the effected area is posted as 5mph.
Ferndale Road north of Slater has water over the roadway but remains open. There remains water over the roadway on W Smith Road west of LaBounty Drive and it too remains open.
Water hasn’t passed the fog line at the corner of Barrett and Paradise Roads so no impact on traffic at that frequently flooded location.
Forecasters continue to expect the river will recede instead of rise any further.
