While Old Settlers Pioneer Picnic will be bringing in additional traffic volumes, there are also a couple events happening on the roads in Ferndale drivers should plan for.
A procession of farm tractors will be heading through town and down Main Street beginning about 1:30pm today. This is a tribute to Don McKay who was recently killed in a tractor accident. The procession will head down 3rd Avenue from Washington Street to Main Street and then follow Main Street to Barrett Road. It will turn north on Barrett Road and follow to Paradise Road until arriving at Woodlawn Cemetery on Northwest Drive.
The Old Settlers Junior Parade starts at 6pm today and will proceed down Alder Street from 4th Avenue and then down 2nd Avenue to Cherry Street. These roads will be closed at that time. Participants will begin lining up on 4th Avenue and Alder Street at 4:45pm requiring an earlier closure of that segment of the route.
