BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The City of Bellingham announced a bicycle parade is scheduled to begin at 1pm, Sunday, May 1st, and travel down E & W Holly Streets to Waypoint Park. The route diverts from W Holly Street to W Chestnut Street via Commercial Street.

E & W Holly Streets, Commercial Street and W Chestnut Street will be closed to traffic during the parade. All traffic at the following cross-streets will be temporarily stopped in both directions at the parade route while the parade passes by.

- N Forest Street
- N State Street
- Railroad Avenue
- Cornwall Avenue
The Bellingham Bike Parade is being co-organized by Whatcom Transportation Authority and the City of Bellingham.
The ride will take place rain or shine according to organizers (the forecast for downtown Bellingham as of April 29th calls for the slightest bit of rain an hour before the parade begins, a light breeze and temperatures in the low-50s). Riders will be escorted on the route by Bellingham Police officers.
Helmets will be required of all riders and bike decorations and costumes are encouraged. All ages welcome.
Riders interested in participating are to meet at the WECU parking lot, 600 East Holly Street, at 12:30pm.
