Thursday morning update

6:30am: Good morning. It was a noisy night for most with high wind gusts over 50mph lasting until after 3am this morning. A couple-hundred neighbors lost power as a result. The winds make it harder to enjoy the relatively warm temperatures in the fifties. And the rain, which began about 5:30am doesn’t help either.

The rising Nooksack River is expected to cause minor flooding and some road closures late tonight and tomorrow morning. Look for more on that here later today.

Commute routes are currently all open with no visible surprises. Check the current traffic cams anytime here.

Today’s Ferndale weather forecast calls for another relatively warm day but also a wet one. Expect occasional rain and wind tapering to a few showers later. Highs will be in the mid-fifties and winds southwest from 25 to 35mph. The chance of rain today is 80%.
