1 occupant and a dog were able to safely get out.
The occupants reported they did not hear anything unusual but saw smoke and immediately got out of the house.
Upon arriving at the crash scene, first responders found a sheared off power pole and a vehicle upside down against a barn.
A dog trapped in the burning room was found growling at firefighters from behind a sofa.
No people or pets were injured. No one was displaced by the fire.
Initial witness reports were that the car was on fire.
A Lynden Police officer and a bystander were credited with rescuing the driver from the burning vehicle.
No one was injured in the fire or in fighting the fire, but some chickens were unaccounted for.
